Meeting Global Standards
The Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program is a rigorous and credible food safety and quality program that is recognized by retailers, brand owners, and food service providers world-wide. Recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), the SQF family of food safety and quality codes are designed to meet industry, customer, and regulatory requirements for all sectors of the food supply chain – from the farm all the way to the retail stores. Safe Quality Food (SQF) Certified
SQF certification is a world-recognized quality and food safety standard that LMI Packaging is proud to maintain, year after year. Our yearly certification is proof of our consistent and measured approach to meeting necessary product specifications for food grade packaging materials. Being an SQF certified manufacturer means our customers can count on the processes and training we have in place to make sure the lidding and labels we send out can be trusted on their products. More importantly, we recognize and are committed to the work that must be done, every day, to keep our certification in place.
More Than Passing, We Excel
We are pleased to announce that we have once again passed the annual SQF audit with an Excellent score rating. One of our quality objectives is being audit ready every day of the year. Our audit rating of Excellent means we were rated with one of the highest ratings possible. This demonstrates our excellent level of compliance with the SQF code. The SQF auditor complimented our senior management team for “a food packaging facility that is very clean with a great running operation.”
Quality Assurance Measures
Our customers need to be confident in the product we ship out. To make sure this happens, we make sure that quality is an integral part of each and every LMI team employee’s job responsibilities. We believe in preventive, proactive processes in addition to reactive, non-conformance quality tracking. We have a number of tests in place, from the start of the production run, at the printing presses and die cut machines to verify not only the aesthetics of your product but also its functionality. We do the right things to ensure our continuous improvement journey – and continue to seek ways to add systems geared exclusively to quality.
Throughout production runs, we continuously sample and test products for quality assurance. Every operator on our floor is trained to identify quality issues and has the authority to shut down a production line immediately. This allows us to verify and validate material performance and correct issues before product leaves our facilities. In addition, every order is traced with complete records on hand for any future investigation that may be required.
